Supreme Education Foundation Schools Wins CKA Computer Contest:


Bamidele Sharon, Folayemi Oladunni and Lotan Henry, all of Supreme Education Foundation Schools, Magodo, Lagos have won the maiden edition of the City of Knowledge Academy (CKA) computer competition held at its campus in Ogun State. 

In a stiff contest between 16 primary schools, Supreme Education Foundation School defeated other schools to claim the first prize. 

Master Lotan Hery said: “We won because we were determined. I did my best and did not underestimate myself. We practiced a lot by sacrificing our after-school hours for practice. It has paid off because the 90 minutes spent after school to practice was not in vain. 

“After the normal school hours, we met at the ICT lab to practice. 

“Initially, when I saw other contestants, I felt nervous and scared but I believed in myself that I can do it.” 

On her part, Miss Folayemi Oladunni, said that when the positions were called from the last to the third and her school was not mentioned, she knew her school was going to win. 

Meanwhile, during the competition, founder of City of Knowledge Academy, Mrs. Mosun Belo-Olusoga, noted that the purpose of the competition was to catch pupils young in the knowledge of information communication technology. 

She said: ‘’For us, we are very passionate about ICT and that is why we have won all the competition we had entered, adding: “We believe that digitization is the future of the world.” 

According to her, anybody who does not know how to use the computer cannot go far. She stressed that computer knowledge helps in the business world in every undertaking. 

She said: “It is about catching them young. Once the primary school students know about the computer, it makes learning easy for them when they get into secondary school and after school. We are here to give moral support and tell students that the sky is their limit.”
